ReEngage Marriage

Questions about ReEngage™

What is ReEngage?

ReEngage (or Re|Engage) is a powerful multi-week program for couples that is sponsored by hundreds of churches around the globe.  It was developed in Dallas by Watermark Church in 2007 and was so popular that it has spread to many areas of the United States and some other countries.  ReEngage brings couples together in a small group environment.  There couples learn about God’s design for marriage and apply proven biblical principles to build a healthy relationship.

Each church organizes ReEngage differently and meets on different nights according to their schedule.  However, all couples work through the same topics and lessons.  In ReEngage you will be working with other similar couples and find that your marriage challenges are shared by most other couples.  This dynamic creates many new friendships and provides ongoing encouragement.

We have worked with ReEngage  since 2007 leading 15 couples groups and supporting new ReEngage efforts at several churches.

The Real Us, is not sponsored or endorsed by the ReEngage Ministry but we highly recommend it for couples who want to improve their marriage intimacy.

What types of marriage issues does ReEngage work with?

ReEngage is designed for all types of marriages.  Couples are often grouped by age or life stage, but couples from 18 to 75 have attended and found new hope for their relationship.  Additionally, couples that are divorced, separated or considering these options are also welcome.  At ReEngage, all marriages are welcome and no one is forced to share more than they feel comfortable doing.  No matter how troubled a marriage might be, ReEngage has the power to reconnect, revive and resurrect marriages in a powerful way.

What does ReEngage cost?

Each church sets a cost per couple for entering the program.  It usually ranges from $50 to $100 per couple for the complete program.  And couples are not charged for visiting or learning more about ReEngage so it’s easy to visit one or more churches to find the one that meets your schedule and needs.

Do I need to be a member or join a church to attend ReEngage?

No, most churches welcome any couple wanting to consider ReEngage.  In fact, most couples, who are members of one church prefer to attend another church that offers ReEngage for privacy concerns.  So visiting couples that attend or do not attend a church are equally welcome.  And if the church is not conveniently located they can help you find one that is.  Bottom-line, you can visit whether you attend or don’t attend and should feel no pressure to join that church.

I'm from the XXXXX denomination, will a ReEngage class work for me?

Your religious affiliation is not a factor in ReEngage.  While the materials are presented from a Biblical viewpoint, there is no demand that you join a new faith, church or denomination.  The focus of the lessons is on your marriage relationship and how Biblical truth can help you find deeper intimacy.  Many of the other couples that would be with you in ReEngage are usually from multiple churches.  We have lead ReEngage couples who have come from Catholic, Agnostic, Protestant, Pentecostal backgrounds.

I don't know anything about the BIble, does this matter?

No, you don’t need to know anything about the Bible or bring a Bible to the ReEngage sessions.  You will each have a ReEngage Lesson Guide book that you will use during your time in the group.  There is no bible memorization or sermons.  Each week, couples will work on a specific area of their marriage.  The lessons progressively lead you to better understanding of yourself, your spouse and your marriage.

My marriage is in such bad shape. Would ReEngage really help?

Yes, if you and your spouse are willing to invest the time, you will find it helping you understand each other and find solutions to the challenges your marriage faces.  Most couples have never attended a class on marriage so they are ill-prepared for the challenges that it brings.  That’s where ReEngage shines.  It knows that most couples struggle and it offers an open and welcoming environment for couples to learn more about each other, their marriage and what the Bible teaches about great marriages.  The majority of couples who attend ReEngage would tell you to make the effort to visit and find out more, even though they first visited with doubts.
