About Your Hosts

Lou Ann and Rob met in High School after he noticed her picture in the High School Yearbook.  He called her up and asked her out for a date, sight unseen.

Rob was smitten from their first date and they continued to date  for the next 4+ years.

Rob was an active believer, but Lou Ann was more of a traditional church-goer.  After a year of dating, she prayed, in a Jack In the Box parking lot, to receive Jesus as a personal savior.

Three years later he graduated from college and they were married.

Like most newlyweds they were broke, overly confident and naive in many ways.

They first lived in California then returned to the Dallas area.  Rob pursued a career in I.T.

Early in their marriage, they sensed that God was preparing them to work with married couples.

At that point they were just beginners at marriage and had a lot to learn.

Over the years, their marriage was wounded by Rob’s pursuit of career success, people-pleasing, pride and serious anger issues.

Ultimately God used a business failure to get his attention.

With the help of their church and close friends he walked through repentance to find a new freedom from anger and become a more loving husband.

Since 2008, they have been serving in the re|engage Marriage ministry.  In the past 12+ years, they have led multiple groups of couples and seen so many lives changed.

They enjoy hiking, backpacking, tandem cycling, traveling, time with family, Texas Barbecue and an occasional margarita.

They have two married daughters, two wonderful son-in-laws and eight grandchildren.

With the Real Us Ministry, they offer encouragement and resources for marriages based on the re|engagetm marriage ministry and the SYMBIS assessment..
